BVEN Boutique Offers Consumers Fantastic Holiday Boutique Shopping.

With the current economic state, more and more consumers are scrutinizing their purchases.  I see it daily at my boutique and online store@ http://www.bvenboutique.com. Consumers have the upper hand now to shop boutique and get deals at unheard of prices.  I for one, am liquidating most of my merchandise in order to streamline my overhead with a Buy 1 – Get 1 Free and our 12 Sales of Christmas offering a new daily sale.

Fair Fashion?

The Wisconsin State Fair came to town this past August, bringing great food, music, animals, and entertainment. It also brought out the bad fashion.

The staff at BVEN Boutique took a field trip to the fair to survey the “fair fashion.” While there were some hits, there were  many misses.  Narrowing our critique, we policed the worst of the worst at the State Fair.

 

 

Did she get lost?

 


 

It’s a fair, not a night club, but I guess you can meet guys anywhere!  The worst part of this look is that the leggings should never be paired with a shirt that does not cover your butt.  Unless you are a thin runway model, the “mass of a__” isn’t something the rest of us should see. This look comes off a bit too trashy .

 

 

 

Less is more!

This woman simply has too much going on in one outfit. It needs to be toned down, WAY down. The skirt and hat are adorable and appropriate for the fair.  However, the boots and mismatched t-shirt are not. A simple white tank top or v-neck t-shirt, layered under a soft-yellow, lightweight cardigan, would have matched nicely. With a simple sandal or espadrille to complete the look, this outfit would have been more appropriate and calmer!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Moral of this story: Always dress approximately for the occasion, your age, and your body type. Do not overload a single outfit with too many layers, prints, styles, etc. Instead, choose one standout piece and create the rest of the outfit to highlight it. All it takes is a few minor tweaks to change your fashion don’t into a fashion do!

From runways to magazines, color blocking has been a hit for the upcoming fall season. Color blocking – which incorporates two or a few color pieces into a single look – is a fun way to stand out.  Designers, like Gucci, are using the idea of color blocking in their latest collection. The look is achieved when each item, either a single color or similar texture of fabric, are blended together, making the design chaotic and wild. The photo to the right is a great example of color blocking seen today on the red-carpet as well as the streets. The look is best executed when complimentary or opposite colors are paired together (i.e. close to or opposite from each other on the color wheel). Best thing about this trend is you do not need to shop for new items! You can mix and match pieces you already own to create new looks!
