Wearing Jewelry with a Metal Allergy
Product Information
At BVEN we’re excited to carry both new and vintage jewelry. But if you have a metal allergy wearing your favorite jewelry can be frustrating and painful. Girl, I feel your pain. Being a lover of all things vintage I’ve had figure out a few tricks for rocking my latest accessory score. And rather than let another person ever suffer the dreaded jewelry scourge, I want to share my tricks with you!

My favorite trick is hydro-cortisone cream. It’s my go to in case a rash breaks out, but I also apply a little to whatever skin will come in contact with my baubles. A light layer around your neck or wrists or ears will hold for a few hours and protect you from metallic mange!

When I find a cool pair of clip earrings or something else with smooth surface that will touch my skin, I put a light layer of clear nail polish on it.

In the case of pendants I’ll restring the piece onto ribbon or deerlace. The best thing about using ribbon is that you can change up the colors and get a whole new look to your pendant.

And the last tip? Learn to love brooches! No risk jewelry! All of the brooches seen in this picture are available in our Deal Den for under 10 dollars! The rest of the jewelry shown is also available at BVEN. Stop in and shop fearlessly!
As always, take extra good care of your skin. In addition to your regime add vitamin E for healing and vitamin to help alleviate allergies.
Do you have a metal allergy? How do you make it work with your style?
